American Income Life Insurance provides supplemental life insurance to working families. Today, they are one of the largest providers of supplemental insurance to a variety of organizations including credit and labor unions. They offer in-home sales of life insurance and provide many different types of policies to choose from.

History

American Income Life Insurance Company started in 1951 with one founder, Bernard Rapoport. When Mr. Rapaport started the company, he had just $25,000 in capital. Today the company is one of the largest supplemental life insurance companies in the United States. They have more than 2 million customers with $130 million in policies. The parent company of American Income Life Insurance Company is Torchmark Corporation, which is a highly reputable financial services holding company and is also a Fortune 100 company.

Products

American Income Life (AIL) provides life insurance along with health and accident supplemental products. Their list of products includes whole and term life insurance; supplemental accident; hospital indemnity; cancer protection; and critical illness protection. Along with the standard term and whole life policies, AIL offers a Final Expense Plan which provides benefits for your loved ones after you pass away, making it easier for them to afford your final arrangements without the financial stress that this life change can cause.

Positives

AIL is a supporter of working-class families. They not only offer exclusive protection for middle class families, but also work hard to advocate for the greater good of all working people. The beliefs at AIL go much deeper than making a profit – they genuinely care about their policyholders and the issues they face out in the working world. They are constantly working to improve the world of the working class to make things right and fair for everyone that is just trying to make a living for themselves.

Popular Products

AIL offers the standard life insurance policies you find at other insurance agencies; however, unlike other agencies, they offer a Terminal Illness Rider for no cost on their life insurance policies. This benefit is an “advance” on the face amount of the coverage bought. This rider is enforced when the policyholder is diagnosed with a terminal illness that will claim his life in less than 12 months (24 months in a few states). The beneficiaries receive the final proceeds following your death, but with the accelerated benefit, the money is available for use for medical payments or anything else you see necessary while you are alive should you face a terminal illness.

Employees

The employees at AIL all have the same philosophy, to find the greater good for working-class families. This in-home life insurance company strives to make all clients feel comfortable with their decisions by providing solutions to their life insurance needs in their own home – there is no in-office pressure forcing clients to make a forced and rushed decision about such an important topic. Each employee is caring and understanding of the issues that working-class families face on a day-to-day basis. Each employee works closely with their clients to ensure that only affordable and applicable products are offered to ensure client satisfaction.

Something that sets AIL apart from other insurance agencies is their dedication to creating union jobs. Each employee at their company works under the protection of the union and the company continues to face incredible growth, never having to face the decision to downsize with the downturn in the economy as many other insurance companies were forced to do.

Ratings

American Income Life Insurance Company received an A+ rating from A.M. Best as of June 2015. Their outlook was determined as stable and their rating superior.
